Edward Blessing is the Managing Director of Blessing Petroleum Group, LLC, which was founded in 1989. Mr. Blessing offers more than 30 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry.

Currently, Edward Blessing serves in a number of leadership positions. Edward Blessing is a member of the San Diego State University Campanile Foundation where he serves on the Finance and Investment Committee and is Co-Chair of the Audit Committee. Edward Blessing is also a member of the San Diego State University National Campaign Council. Edward Blessing serves on the Court of Trustees for the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies in Canterbury, Kent, England. Edward Blessing is an Independent Director for Petro-Victory Energy Corp. He is Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Corporate Governance and Compensation Committee. Mr. Blessing is a member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS). He is a member of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers and the Dallas Wildcat Committee. Mr. Blessing participates in the National Association for Corporate Directors’ Corporate Governance Education Programs and is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow.

Edward Blessing served as an Independent Director of NGP Capital Resources Company from 2004 to 2014. He was Chair of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Blessing and the other directors resigned on September 30, 2014, when they successfully approved the appointment of a new Investment Advisor.

In the past, Mr. Blessing served as Vice Chairman of the Sigma Chi Foundation Board of Governors. Mr. Blessing was on the Executive Committee for the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations, where he served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee. Mr. Blessing was on the Executive Committee for the Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. serving on the Finance, Development and Nominations Committees. Edward Blessing served as Regional Director of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) North Central Texas Region and has served as a Director of the Dallas Petroleum Club.

Edward Blessing appeared on Episode #1920 of the McCuistion Program: Oil, Gas & Energy Security for America, which aired on PBS on February 26, 2012. Mr. Blessing has participated in continuing education through executive programs at Wharton and Oxford. He has also served as a part-time graduate-level Adjunct Professor at the University of Oklahoma. Additionally, he served as a volunteer Reserve Deputy Sheriff for both the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and Dallas County, Texas Sheriff’s Departments.

Prior to forming Blessing Petroleum Group, LLC, Mr. Blessing led the formation of Dallas-based Strategic Petroleum Inc., where he served as a Director and Chief Executive Officer. During the 1980s, Mr. Blessing managed Blessing Petroleum Corporation, an independent oil and gas firm located in Oklahoma City. He served as Executive Vice President and Director of Oklahoma City-based Oklahoma Oil and Gas Company from 1978 to 1980. During the early ’70s, Mr. Blessing served in various capacities within the natural resource venture capital industry. This included serving as Associate Managing Director for a privately held Swiss holding company which funded oil and gas and hard rock mining ventures, some of which were publicly traded. Prior to that time, Edward Blessing served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, Inc. in the company’s New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco offices.

Edward Blessing earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University.

Edward Blessing was named a Significant Sig in 2008. This is an award given to Sigma Chi Alumni whose achievements have brought honor to the name of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Edward Blessing received a Grant of Arms as recorded in Her Majesty’s College of Arms, London, England, granted on August 2, 2012.

Edward Blessing was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Service Award in April 2013 as part of the San Diego State University Monty Awards. The Monty Award recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to San Diego State University, the San Diego community or California, nationally or internationally.

Edward Blessing was recognized as a Constantine Sig on March 15, 2014. The Order of Constantine is considered to be the highest honor that the Sigma Chi Fraternity bestows upon one of its members.
